Houston’s first Christian DJ for the Hispanic community – since 2001
In 2001, there was no one doing what needed to be done. Houston’s Hispanic community was celebrating, quinceañeras, weddings, baptisms, family milestones, but families who wanted a DJ who shared their faith had nowhere to turn. So a 15-year-old with a passion for music and a love for God decided to fill that space.
That teenager was the man behind Sonido Ultimo Trueno. For nearly a decade, he became a fixture in Houston’s Hispanic Christian event community, not as a business, but as a calling. Word traveled through churches, families, and neighborhoods. Others took note. Some of those who looked up to him went on to build their own DJ careers.
“I stepped away to provide for my family. I became a master welder — even did work for SpaceX. But the music never left.”
For 17 years, he poured himself into a different kind of craft, welding, fitting, quality control across some of the most demanding industries in the world. But creative work has a way of calling you back. When he saw someone he had mentored, someone who had watched him work years ago, now running a thriving DJ business with a team and a venue of his own, he knew it was time.
